Hospital and health-system ATS platforms are unusually strict about exact-match keywords: unit type, certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS), and EHR system names (Epic, Cerner) often need to appear verbatim or the application never reaches a recruiter. Beyond keyword matching, the strongest nurse resumes quantify patient load, unit acuity, and any process or outcome improvement, rather than repeating duties every nurse on the unit also performs.

- List every active certification with its full name (Basic Life Support as well as BLS) at least once, because some ATS platforms match on the spelled-out version.
- State your typical patient ratio and unit type explicitly; a recruiter scanning dozens of resumes uses this to gauge acuity experience at a glance.
- Name the EHR system(s) you’ve used. Hospitals standardize on one platform and often treat it as a near-hard requirement.
