Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data Resumate ("we", "us") collects when you use the Resumate web app and Chrome extension, and how we use it. Resumate is in early access; this policy will evolve as the product does, and we'll update the date above whenever it changes.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address, managed via our authentication provider, Supabase.
- Experience data — the work history, roles, achievements, and skills you enter into Resumate.
- Job data — job descriptions you import via the Chrome extension from LinkedIn job listings you are viewing, including title, responsibilities, qualifications, and skills.
- Derived data — vector embeddings generated from your experience and job data, used to match your experience to job requirements.
How we use it
We use your data solely to operate Resumate: storing your experience so you don't re-enter it, parsing job listings you choose to import, generating embeddings to match your experience against a job's requirements, and assembling a tailored CV for you to download. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your experience or job data to train AI models.
Third-party services
We rely on the following processors to run Resumate:
- Supabase — authentication and database storage (PostgreSQL with pgvector).
- Groq — parses scraped job description text into structured data.
- Hugging Face — generates the vector embeddings used for experience-to-job matching.
Each of these providers processes data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms; we only send the minimum data necessary for them to perform their function.
The Chrome extension
The Resumate Chrome extension only activates on LinkedIn job listing pages and only reads the job posting content on the page you are currently viewing. It does not track your browsing outside of LinkedIn job pages and does not run in the background.
Data retention and deletion
Your experience and job data are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete individual experiences and saved jobs from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@resumate.cv.
